If you were to ask any of our trainers at iNLeT, I would bet we all have different reasons for getting into Personal Training. I’m Lyndsay, and my story revolves around a lifelong love for athletics and exercise. I grew up in a very active home with parents who enjoyed physical activity and outdoor play. Childhood sports were encouraged and became a way of life. I played three sports in high school, and continued my athletic career in college, playing both volleyball and softball. My major included a concentration in Athletic Training which mixed my love of team sports and sports medicine. Directly out of college, I landed a job in a Physical Therapy clinic where I lead patients through their assigned therapy exercises ensuring proper form and technique.
Fast forward 10 years and in the midst of a growing family, I was eager to get back into the workplace. I was at a crossroads wondering how I could use my experiences and degree to contribute financially to our household. At that time, my friends and I were in the cycle of pregnancy, postpartum, and working hard to “lose that baby weight”. With my background in athletics and with my education, I knew I had the right tools to regain strength, endurance, and transform my physique. (I also craved the many mood stabilizing benefits of exercise). However, because many of my friends felt so lost as to what to do and how to do it, they came to me with their questions. It didn’t take long to realize that personal training (and eventually group exercise), was to be my next venture.
Even today you can see these threads of my background in a personal training session or in a group fitness class. I love watching clients and class attendees grow in mental knowledge as well as physical strength over the course of our time together. Attention to form and technique is one of my main goals in every session or class. I have worked with all sorts of clients; some post hip-replacement, some with shoulder or low-back injuries, still others with weight-loss or postpartum goals and athletes preparing for the season ahead. Regardless of your story, as your personal trainer it is my greatest joy to come alongside you and give you the tools you need to reach your goals.
I’ll be your biggest cheerleader along the way!
