Group Fitness Spotlight – Christopher Jackson

Name: Christopher Jackson

Nicknames: None

Birthday: 1968

Where were you born?: United Kingdom

When did you start teaching at iNLeT? Over 10 years ago.

Before joining iNLeT Fitness as a spinning instructor, Christopher was an avid runner, often participating in triathlons and Sprint Series. He partially tore his Achilles tendon, though, and had to give up running while his body healed. He discovered spinning and has never looked back.

Christopher has been spinning since 2003, but becoming an instructor actually happened quite by accident. “I was in spin class at the YMCA,” he describes, “and one day the instructor didn’t make it in. So I grabbed a CD for us all to work out to – and by the time I got back into the spin room, the class decided that I should instruct. It was a little daunting at the time,” he admits.

What prompted Christopher to earn his instructor certification? That was easy. He really wanted to make sure he was doing everything right!

Although he has been a biker (both road and mountain) for many years, he felt obliged to understand all of the techniques and safety requirements on behalf of his class.

Please join us as we welcome Christopher to the iNLeT Fitness family of instructors. Jump on a bike — and we’ll see you in class!

What is one of your favorite childhood memories? Taking long walks on the Yorkshire moors with my family and our dog.

What is your favorite indulgence? Walkers Cheese and Onion crisps (Chips)

What motivates you in the gym? Working out is a great stress reliever and it helps me function better as a person, especially when things seem overwhelming.
